Based on the 1972 Martin Caidin novel Cyborg, Kenneth Johnson's American science fiction action-adventure television series The Bionic Woman, starring Lindsay Wagner, aired from January 14, 1976, to May 13, 1978. In the Bionic Woman television series, Jaime Sommers uses her superhuman bionic abilities to undertake specialised, dangerous government missions. A spin-off of the science fiction action television series Six Million Dollar Man from the 1970s is the Bionic Woman series.
