Born Davon Thomas House in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, California on July 10, 1989 to Kelin and Sheltie House; Davon grew up with two siblings, a sister named Vanessa and a brother named Tyreace House. Davon went to Palmdale High School in Palmdale, California where he started his football career. Playing for the Palmdale Falcons, House led the team to their fifth Golden League title. Besides football, House also competed in track and field events as well as high school baseball. He was an All-Golden League selection. The following year, he was named MVP in the Next Level All-Star competition. When his high school career ended, House enrolled at Mexico State University, where he continued his college career with the Aggies.

At Mexico State, he ranked sixth in school history for having 11 receptions in a game. In his freshman year, he played 13 games for the Aggies; thus breaking the school record with four interceptions and returning in his first career game. By the end of the season, House had a total of 37 tackles, eight breakouts, and four interceptions for 171 return yards, 94 kick return yards, and 283 all-purpose yards.

The following year, he played in twelve games for the Aggies, finishing the season with an improved record of 40 tackles and two interceptions. He had his practice season in 2009 with a forced fumble, 57 tackles and 12 assists in 12 losses. He earned an American honorable mention and was placed as a nominee for the Jim Thorpe Award.

Davon House was selected by the Green Bay Packers of the NFL in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He was the 131st player to be selected and the 19th cornerback to be selected. Upon joining the Packers, House signed a four-year contract worth $2.34 million, complete with a signing bonus of $198,000. Coach Mike McCarthy named the Packers’ sixth cornerback. Playing alongside Tramon Williams, Sam Shields and Pat Lee, House made his professional debut on October 23, 2011 against the Minnesota Vikings. He finished his rookie season in just two games with a record one tackle.
