BIOGRAPHY
The actor and comedian, Héctor Suárez , was born on October 21, 1938 in Mexico City, Federal District, Mexico. He began his career in theater under the direction of Carlos Ancira and studied pantomime with the famous mime Marcel Marceau. He participated in works such as “The Simple Things” (1959), “The Idiot” (1960), “A Widow Without a Bra” (1964), “The Married House Wants” (1967), “The Cage of the Crazy Women” (1976 ), “The Dragonfly” (1983) and “I’m Crazy” (1990). In 1962 he debuted on the small screen with the series Un Hijo Cayo del Cielo , which was followed by Domingos Herdez and Chucherias . In 1965 he debuted on the big screen with the film The Invisible Assassin and later participated in others such as Bachelorette Party , The Six-Liter Woman , The Zacatecas March , Mexican Picardy or National Mechanics. He made comedy shows like What’s wrong with us? , in which he used black humor to make social denunciations and thus escaped the censorship of his time. He participated in soap operas such as A Second Chance, Bridal Veil, Gotita de Amor, El Derecho de Nacer, El Carruaje, Las Geminis, El Dolor de Vivir and Madres Egoticos , among others.
He was awarded the Ariel Prize for Mecánica Nacional and Diosas de Plata for productions such as Trampas de amor , En la stringa del Hunger and Los milusos . He married the actress and host, Pepita Gomís, with whom he had a son, Héctor Suárez Gomís, a famous Mexican comedian.
