BIOGRAPHY
Son of Brazilian actor Guy Ecker, Jon-Michael Ecker grew up in Texas and earned a bachelor’s degree in Aquatic Biology from University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) before moving to Mexico City to pursue acting. Since 2010, he began to participate in various television projects, but got his first major role as Aaron “Ari” Morales in the Colombian soap opera Popland! (2011). In addition to participating in some soap operas and pay television series for the Latin American public, Ecker participated in the successful Cantinfas (2014), giving life to the iconic Hollywood actor Marlon Brando. In 2014, Ecker returned to the United States and began working in the English language market. He landed the role of El Lion in the Netflix series Narcos , as well as Raymundo “El Güero” Dávila in the USA Network series Queen of the South . In 2021 he stars alongside Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke in the Netflix series Dancing with the Fireflies .
