Kirk was born to a minister who serves as pastor at Discovery Church in Orlando. He was born Kirk Daniel Cousins on August 19, 1988 in Barrington Illinois. His parents are Don and Maryann cousins. He is one of three children and the second of the trio.
For his pedagogical aspirations he trained at Holland Christain High School, where he began to plan his career as an athlete. During his school years, he participated in various sporting activities, including football, baseball, and basketball. Over time, he chose the path of a soccer player over the others. During his school days as a quarterback, he recorded 3,204 passes, 40 touchdowns and 8 interceptions.
