Born David Andrew Burd, Lil Dicky used this alias simply as his rapper name. He was born on March 15, 1988 in Cheltenham Township of Pennsylvania, United States, in an upper middle class Jewish family. This makes his nationality American. He did well in his school and even got good grades. After high school, Burd also attended the University of Richmond, from which he graduated summa cum laude in 2010. After graduation, he began working at an advertising agency, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. He was first appointed as an accountant, but later moved to the creative department writing copy for advertisements.

He was interested in music since childhood, but mainly took up the career as a rapper because he wanted to gain attention as a comedian in hopes of writing movies, TV shows and acting in them. He has then released albums like ” Professional Rapper” , a music video called ” Pillow Talking”.Similarly, in the year he released an EP as his alter ego Brain .

In the music video, he released with the title « Girl » is dedicated to his ex-girlfriend in real life. The rapper says the video is a real-life embodiment of his relationship and love for his ex-girlfriend. The video means that he had a relationship with the girlfriend that ended because of her love for rap music that grew on her. In the music video, he also expresses how he felt after seeing her marry another man.
