Woollahra home with ‘quirky’ reno by former Luigi Rosselli architect set to win over buyers

This quirky Woollahra home designed by the same Luigi Rosselli architect that designed nearby $30m Woodlands is going to win over buyers.

Ray White Eastern Beaches agent Benjamin Goodwin — who sold Sydney’s skinniest harbourfront for $15.5m in nine days — has the Linden Ave home of Perpetual Limited exec David Lane and his wife Susan up for auction with a $13.5m guide for May 7 auction.

Records show the couple bought the unrenovated house for $3.7m in 2010.

“I just love the renovation,” says Goodwin.

“They’ve spent a fortune on it.

“It’s a bit quirky and it has a really unreal street presence.

“It’s on a 532sqm block but because of the elevation — it’s a tri-level home — it feels like an 800sqm estate.”

The renovation was done just two years ago but the couple are now keen to relocate closer to the beach.

Their architect, Hugh Campbell, was project architect on the nearby Woodlands mansion, which recently sold in a hushed-up off-market deal for more than $30m, when he was working with Rosselli.

The design and finishes used in the five-bedroom, four-bathroom home look exceptional.

The marble, sourced from Italy, appears in the kitchen and each of the bathrooms.

The upper two floors feature Blackburn tongue and groove wood floors; there’s Caverlier Bremworth wool carpet in the children’s bedrooms and sandstone paving outside.

Families will love the three-car garage, with room for three more cars in off-street parking.

There are multiple indoor and outdoor entertainment areas, with open-plan formal and casual living flowing to a covered deck.

The outdoor terrace has a remote retracable awning and there’s a fenced pool.

And the huge master suite has an adjacent sitting room or study, ensuire and built-in wardrobes.

It offers a rare 33.5m frontage and is just metres to Cooper Park.
