Frank Liguori Obituary – Frank A. Liguori, Sr. of Hopatcong died at home on Saturday, June 9, 2012. He was 65. Frank Liguori, born on May 31, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY to Jennie (Miragio) and the late Alfred Liguori, lived in Hopatcong for almost 50 years. Prior to his retirement in 1994, he worked as a Police Lieutenant for the Borough of Hopatcong for 25 years.
During the Vietnam War, Frank served in the United States Army and was a decorated soldier, earning the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, Expert Badge Rifle Bar, and Sharpshooter Badge with auto rifle bar.
In addition to his US government honors, Frank received many medals from the Republic of Vietnam, including the Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Unit Citation and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation. Frank was a passionate outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and just being outside. He belonged to the Columbia Valley Rod and Gun Club.
He was a passionate family guy who found his greatest satisfaction in spending time with his family. Frank was a gentleman, a dedicated police officer, and a valuable citizen and employee of the Borough of Hopatcong. His beloved family and the many people who knew him will miss him much. Cory’s loving husband, adored father of Frank A., Jr., adoring Grandpa of Gabriella and Anthony, loyal son of Jennie (Miragio) and the late Alfred, treasured brother of Grace Mazzarella and husband Ralph, cherished brother in law of Robert Parker and wife Nancy, and Thomas Parker and wife Tina.
