Melody Lane was built in the 1930s and has had some fascinating owners.
In its early years it was a retreat for Catholic nuns who could relax on the private beach and wander the large grounds.
But perhaps 49 Beaconsfield St, Newport’s best-known owner was businesswoman Karin Adcock who brought the Pandora jewellery brand to Australia from her native Denmark in the early 2000s. Karin owned Melody Lane for 11 years running her business and extensively renovating the grand property.
She was friends with the Danish royals and lent Mary Crown Princess of Denmark her yacht on one of her visits to Sydney. The property has a 76m beach frontage and deep water mooring directly in front of the house.
Karin sold in 2020 for $8.9m and now runs a winery in the Hunter Valley.
